Racing

Racing can be intimidating for younger riders or those who have never taken part before. In reality, racing is fun, accessible to all, and an excellent way for children to build their confidence, both on and off the bike.

At Herne Hill Youth CC we encourage our members to race. We have a pool of race-ready bikes which can be borrowed for a one-off event, or rented for a whole season for only £50

If you're interested in racing, speak to a coach or any volunteer. The main racing leagues our members participate in are:

Cyclocross offroad cycling for all ages from 6. The season is run by the London Cyclocross Association and holds 15 events from September to February. Click here for more details. Our more competent riders also join the national cyclocross leagues.

Go-Ride  these events are specifically designed for children aged 6-16 who are not racing in the more established leagues. They run throughout the school year. They are the perfect place for all riders to start their racing career. Click here for more details.

Crystal Palace Crits  road racing on the traffic-free roads within Crystal Palace Park. Races are held every Tuesday at 6:30pm (arrive 6:15pm) from May to August. Click here for more details.
