What it means for riders
You will need enthusiasm and your parents support, and as almost all rides have element of road riding, you must be able to ride to Level 2 National Standard. Judith or Adam can sort you out in this area.
Sadly, a reflection of times we live in, British Cycling membership is mandatory, it’s the insurance….and the race licence. (BC membership is free for the first year)
We know our members love racing, and while it is not essential, we do encourage everyone to at least try a few. Club members race Mountain, cross, track and road, and several are regulars on the British Cycling ‘Regional Schools of Racing’ (RSR’s).
What it means for parents
Parents/Guardians/Carers, we encourage the children to achieve their best and your support is vital in this.
There is no reason why your son or daughter cannot achieve regional, even national recognition, but it will involve your help, enthusiasm, time and of course funds. The club has limited resources, but will support any rider with as much financial help as it can.
For further details, please read fully the details, opportunities and preparation notes, and speak to any of the coaches on the Saturday sessions.
You don't have to do it all, but it is all there for you to do!
