Local Cycle club links
One of several local shops and much loved by the younger crew for their caring manner and endless free advice and time. Their “No manners No spanners” policy ensures they spread politeness and respect.
The Brixton Cycles Club was initially set up in October 1997 because friends and customers wanted to ride together. Funds raised were used to support the clubs race team in all aspects of cycle sport. These days the team is a seperate entity run and funded by the shop so club funds can be freed up to pay for affiliations printing costs and overheads. We're a very mixed group of people who believe that cycling as transport is undervalued, under used and under supported.
We are regularly consulted on cycling issues such as design of the London Cycle Network, collision remedy schemes, location of cycle racks and making sure that cycling is well represented in Southwark's bids for money from central government....
The De Laune Cycling Club is proud to be one of the oldest cycling clubs in the country; with a history covering three centuries (well almost!) - we were founded in 1889. Based in the south-east of London we have around 130 members...
We are a group of cyclists based in Lewisham (London, England) affiliated to the London Cycling Campaign (LCC). Anyone is welcome to join. Our mission statement is:
Lewisham Cyclists will work to make the borough a safer and more attractive place for cyclists, by raising the priority of this mode of travel within an integrated transport strategy. We will also offer practical help and support to cyclists and intending cyclists.
Formed in 1886, we are one of the oldest Cycling Clubs in the country. If you like history and tradition applied to the 21st Century Catford is the place to be Riding, Racing and "Good Felowship" are the words. Maybe we don't have the world champions anymore but we all have a good time. Look at our 'Club History' to see what has been achieved and why we value our cycling traditions.
The VCL was set up in 1964 with the express aim of encouraging young riders into the sport, with an emphasis on track racing at Herne Hill Velodrome , Burbage Road, London, the home of the club. Over the years the club has moved on from being a feeder club, and though track racing is very much its focus, with a number of National champions in its ranks, a wide range of ages and interests are now catered for.
