The Crab and Winkle way is easy and pleasant cycle ride from Canterbury to Whitstable, and we'll be riding it on our Family ride of Sunday 26th July. If you'd like to join us then you are most welcome - we'd love to see you! We rode it a year ago and had a great time, including swimming in the sea at Whitstable!
Crab and Winkle Way ride, Sunday 26th July
A leaflet of the route can be found on the Canterbury council website and there is a map below.
We plan to have Fish and Chips on the 'beach' at Whitstable, and then cycle back to Canterbury. However there is a station at Whitstable if you want to go home from there.
Meet: 11am at Canterbury West gate: Click here for a map of the meeting point
Distance: 7-8 mile ride, one way (1-2 hrs), 15 back to Canterbury - see attached route map
Terrain: Cycle paths through the countryside, some residential roads (quiet)
Stations: Canterbury East or West; Whitstable; Herne Bay: train times can be found here; Ticket Group save deals here
